The Shoreditch Bear by Atlanta Wood
Collage on reclaimed board.
180 cm x 77 cm
This is piece is the first in the series 'Reclaim London’.
“I've always be fascinated in what a wild Britain would look like. In this series I wanted to explore the idea of London scenes inhabited by the animals long since made extinct in the UK by hunting and habitat loss.
I decided to create each piece on boards and furniture collected as I go out on walks to take photos for the collages.
This piece is on a board that was being thrown away during the remodel of a Shoreditch bar.
Reclaiming boards and reusing printer paper ensures the pieces are as eco friendly as possible and I like the challenge of using pieces of an unconventional size and shape.” - Atlanta
