January 2024

And with that 2023, a seemingly reviled year for a lot of people is over and we step into 2024 with a whole new website and concept re-launch.

After a long slog involving (and still involving, but no one is interested in taxes, so I won’t bore you) a mountain of French paperwork, we have set up our very own company, The Smith Visual SARL and re-branded the website into a concept store style gallery.

We are excited to announce that we welcome Olivia Brazier to our team, an extremely talented artist with a feminist story to tell. She works out of Glasgow but has a strong connection to our beloved South of France where she grew up.

In other news, both Olivia and Daniel have exhibitions lined up for the start of 2024, virtual, digital and in-person. Olivia has already shipped her work to Canada for a trio of exhibitions by A Hot Minute and Daniel’s photographs are wending their merry way to Australia for Selected, a Curated Photography and Printmaking Exhibition curated by Andrew Totman at CBD Gallery in Sydney.

For all information on these exhibitions, visit Daniel and Olivia’s artists profiles.

If, before reading this, you have already had a good look around the store and are wondering where exactly the concept part comes in, I will refer you back to my gripe about French taxes and paperwork. Things have taken slightly longer than planned but we are on it, I promise. This concept store aims to bring together artisans and artistic products with strong roots in the Provençal area, but, we will all have to be more patient than I am generally good at.

Onwards and upwards for 2024.
