October

Hello Art Lovers,

October brings a mix of excitement and resilience to La Galerie Contemporaine. While recent events have tested us, we’re thrilled to welcome three incredible artists whose work has already added new dimensions to our collection.

Introducing Our New Artists

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve signed three extraordinary talents:

Christine Ouvrard: Christine’s exquisite etchings, inspired by life models, evoke a Matisse-esque warmth and vibrancy. Her work embodies a delicate approach to line and form, pulling viewers into an immersive world where each piece tells a unique story. We’re thrilled to have Christine’s beautiful etchings on display.

Marina: Originally from Georgia in the Caucasus, Marina’s journey through poetry, theater, and television has led her to master the art of sculpture. Her life-sized figures of vibrant, curvaceous women bring both grace and vitality to any space. Crafted in collaboration with renowned artisans in France and Italy, Marina’s sculptures blend classical and modern forms, with her famous “lady musicians” on display outside the prestigious Hôtel Negresco in Nice. We’re honored to host her enchanting creations that continue to resonate internationally.

Steddy JOHN: Steddy JOHN is a digital artist and sculptor known for his monumental work, COLOSS, which merges the grandeur of architecture with a minimalist, meditative style. Drawing from his experience as a character designer and his passion for Mediterranean architecture, Steddy incorporates the sunlit hues and natural beauty of the Côte d’Azur into his creations. Influenced by diverse cultures and the simplicity of the minimalist movement, his sculptures bring both energy and tranquility to the gallery. Through COLOSS, he envisions an iconic representation of minimalism that harmonizes nature, urbanism, and art.

In addition to these new signings, we’re currently in talks with more regional artists to bring even more community-inspired art to our visitors. Watch this space for more!

Events & Updates

This month, we held our very first Apéro Artistique on Saturday! Despite torrential rain, we had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to connect with so many of you over art, drinks, and conversation. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to join us.

However, the heavy rains caused severe flash flooding later that evening, impacting our gallery space. Knee-high floods on the street and even roof leaks meant that we needed to temporarily close for repairs. Thankfully, all our artwork is safe, though it’s nothing short of a miracle given the conditions! We’re working hard to restore our space and will update you on our reopening.

Continuing Online – Because Nothing Can Stop Us!

While our physical gallery is under repair, we’re continuing to showcase our collection online, and we’re committed to bringing art into your lives no matter the circumstances. Be sure to check out our website and social media for artist features, and updates.

Thank you for your support, patience, and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon to our restored space, and in the meantime, we look forward to seeing you online.
